Meet Red – The Total Package

Red is owned by Dawn at Stormy Hills Golden Retrievers.

Lovingly known as "Red" is the consummate gentleman. Adhering closely to AKC standards for coloring, conformation, and body type, Red is a stunning example of what a field-bred Golden Retriever is meant to be. Weighing in at 65 pounds of solid muscle, he is a compact, athletic machine with both the drive to work and the heart to love.

Red began hunting upland game birds before his first birthday and has been a steady, reliable partner in the field ever since. Eager to please and incredibly biddable, he is titled at the Seasoned level in HRC hunt tests and is dual-registered with both the AKC and UKC. While his high drive and powerful water entries are a thrill to watch, what truly sets Red apart is his remarkable "off switch." In April 2023, he became a certified therapy dog through an AKC-recognized organization, and just two months later, he earned his official AKC Therapy Dog title. Whether visiting nursing homes, working with individuals with special needs, or spending time with children, Red brings joy and calm to everyone he meets.

His versatility, temperament, and strong working lines are already being passed on to the next generation. One of his pups earned her AKC scent tracking title at just nine months old, and several others are currently showing great promise as service dog prospects. Red is the embodiment of balance—intelligent, driven, gentle, and loving. Whether in the field, in the water, or at someone’s side offering comfort, he gives his all.
