Below is a checklist that we put together with items for you to consider/purchase for your puppy before he/she gets to your home! We recommend to start looking at these items early and make a plan to get them ordered so they arrive before your puppy does!
This post contains links to products that I may receive compensation from as an amazon associate at no additional cost to you.
This food is an All Life Stages Food, so it can be continued safely throughout your puppy's entire life. This is what all of our adult dogs eat and what our own puppies are raised on.
We use and recommend treats that are soft and perfect size for training (lots of varieties but our favorites are listed below!)
While we like soft treats for training, we love harder biscuit's for our treat jar! We keep treat jars by each door to reward pups for coming back inside after pottying!
Each dog is different, just because our dogs do best on one type of food, doesn't mean your pup will do best on that same food, even if they are related! These are a few other foods we have fed and recommend. If you have questions about any food related issues with your pup or questions in general, don't hesitate to ask us!
We highly recommend crate training. For most pet owners, it is the most cost efficient to buy a large wire crate with a divider you can move as your puppy grows. Need help with sizing? Shoot us a message!
Our favorite beds to use are the Kuranda raised beds due to being comfortable, space saving, and most importantly, easy to clean. We also like Kimb raised beds for areas where space may be limited.
We love the use of x - pens with our personal puppies. It allows them to be out with our family, but contain them from wandering and having accidents, harassing other dogs or getting into trouble. They are great to help teach relaxation off of a bed and can be used to help with seperation anxiety.
X - pens are NOT crates and should not be used while you are gone.
